When you get back from a job the last thing you want is to have to settle down and transfer your readings from your notes.
Well now you don't have to, your full days work is stored as a completed certificate on your mobile device, smart-phone, PDA or laptop. All you have to do is print it sign it and make out the invoice.

Quick to pick up and use, the controls are colour coded to make range selection easy and fast. They also reduce the chance of using the wrong function or range. The large crystal clear backlit display uses the patented Megger digital/analogue arc, providing indication of fluctuating readings while the dual digital readout shows precise values of key measurements simultaneously with the test parameters, such as the output voltage on insulation testing as well as the resistance value in MÙ.
Visible and audible safety warnings are paramount when testing high-energy systems and the MFT1700 series includes full input protection and safety warnings when a hazardous voltage is present. If live voltages exist on a circuit during insulation or continuity testing, the voltage is displayed on the screen. If this voltage exceeds a safe level, further testing is inhibited and a warning beep sounds.
The MFT1730 features internally rechargeable batteries and charger with a charge time of less than 4 hrs, so reducing the cost of ownership. Fully compliant with all requirements of IEC 60364 derived standards including VDE 0100 and BS 7671, the new MFT includes all the latest measurement technology in a light-weight compact design, fully protected and usable on single phase and 3 phase installations.
New measurement functions include two wire non-trip loop test technology for fast repeatable results, comprehensive testing of RCDs including type B, and integrated 3-terminal techniques for earth electrode testing.

The instrument housing is in tough ABS, designed to withstand the rigours of hard use, and is small enough to drop into your pocket when not in use. Battery requirements are 6 AA batteries of either standard alkaline or nickel metal hydride (NiMH) rechargeable type. A low battery warning indicator gives advanced warning of exhausted batteries.
Continuity testing
Automatic continuity testing is performed at 200 mA to ensure compliance with international requirements. No need to press the test button. All instruments will measure up to 100Ohms on continuity, of which 0-10Ohms is performed at greater than 200 mA to meet international electrical testing requirements.

The units also conform fully to IEC 61010-1 for use in Category III 600V applications, and provide all of the facilities needed to meet insulation testing requirements relating to the current edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations. In line with other products in Megger's comprehensive new contractor range, MIT300 insulation testers feature rugged construction, with an impact-resistant rubber-overmoulded case, and innovative circuitry which guarantees high accuracy combined with stability of calibration. All instruments in the new range provide indication of insulation resistance up to 999Mohms, 200mA continuity testing, a fast-reacting continuity buzzer, and facilities for nulling the resistance of the test leads. The entry-level MIT300 offers insulation test voltages of 250V and 500V, while the remaining models allow testing at 250V, 500V and 1,000V.In addition to the basic features, the mid-range MIT310 adds a default voltmeter function, while the MIT320 supplements these facilities with an a backlit display, illuminated range panel, insulation limit alarm, resistance measurement, and an adjustable threshold for the continuity buzzer. The MIT320 is also supplied with a switched test probe to speed hands free testing. An illuminated switched test probe is available as an optional extra for use with the MIT320. The MIT310, and MIT320 testers incorporate dual solid-state displays which simultaneously show the test results numerically, and in the form of a moving-arc bar graph that accurately simulates the operation of an analogue meter. All testers come complete with a full calibration certificate. For users who prefer a true analogue device, however, Megger is offering the MIT310A which has features similar to those of the MIT310, but with a conventional moving-coil meter movement in place of the digital display.

The PASS/FAIL values are selected to ensure that where there is a published specification for a test parameter then the MTB7671 will test your tester to ensure that it meets these specifications using a series of simple Pass/Fail indications.
Additional test values are provided to ensure that the testers maintain consistent values across the range of their operating specifications. The values chosen for MTB7671 test points are the same as those supplied on all new Megger test instrument calibration certificates which means that you can confirm that the tester continues to provide results that are consistent with its original calibration points.

Simple push-button operation make the PAT300s fast and intuitive in use. All regulatory test requirements are supported, including Class I and Class II, IEC power leads, extension leads and full tests for portable RCDs. An automatic mode is available for Class I and Class II testing. In automatic mode, the tests proceed sequentially through bond, insulation and operation, indicating a pass or fail at each test. If a failoccurs, testing is stopped. When manual testing, each test is preceded by a selection screen where the test parameters are selected, such as bond test current, insulation test voltage or leakage test type. These diagnostic buttons provide direct access to any test individually, allowing single tests to be performed following repair or a suspect result. Accessories supplied with all models include a combined earth-bond and insulation test lead, an adaptor for testing extension leads, and a carry-case convenient product and lead storage.

USB communication provides convenient download to a standard USB memory stick., and an on-board 10,000 record memory provides interruption-free testing for improvedefficiency, with a large QWERTY keypad for fast data entry. Data is directly compatible with Megger PowerSuite® software for professional certification, and all products have the option of a barcode scanner and a thermal transfer barcode label printer operating directly from the USB port. Thermal transfer labels are highly resistant, stable and easily available. The PAT420 and PAT450 have dual 230 V and 110 V operation for complete industrial, commercial and residential applications.

The PAT testing and marketing guides included are a unique feature of the package. They are designed to assist in setting up, running and growing a PAT testing business.
The Guide to PAT testing explains how to perform PAT esting. It assumes some practical experience of working with electricity, but not of portable appliance testing. While remaining simple, it is intended to aid in the detail of how to test and includes identification of the different types of assets that exist and which tests to perform on each type. It also includes the recommended pass/fail criteria from the Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (published by the IEE) enabling easy identification of a good or faulty asset.

All models in the range are water and dust resistant, with an IP54 ingress protection rating. The low-cost entry-level RCDT310 model is suitable for use on supplies between 100V and 280V, and offers 0.5I, I and 5I tests, with provision for tests starting at 0?/180? of the supply waveform, as well as for DC tests. It also has facilities for testing standard and selective RCDs, and covers current ranges from 30mA to 500mA. When connected to a live supply, it defaults to voltmeter mode. The mid-range RCDT320 covers a wider supply voltage range of 50V to 290V, allowing use with centre-tapped 110V supplies. It incorporates ramp testing testing, for RCD tripping current measurement, and the unique Megger auto sequence test feature, which saves time by allowing the tester to conduct all the RCD tests, and to store the results while the operator stands by the RCD, resetting it as appropriate.The operating current range of the RCDT320 is extended to cover 10mA to 1,000mA devices, and the ability to measure AC supply voltage and frequency is added. The large liquid crystal display for test results is backlit in this model, making it easier to use in locations with low ambient light levels. All models in the range comply fully with the requirements of IEC61010-1 for Category III 300V applications, and are supplied complete with appropriate test leads and a calibration certificate.
